Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Raleigh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Beautiful, quiet park. Bathrooms were clean and there was plenty of picnic tables for eating at.

Not much of a walking trail but great playground in a lovely neighborhood.

One of the coolest playgrounds in Raleigh. The walking trail is decent but itβs only a .25 mile loop and unfortunately smells like sewage sometimes but still good overall. It also has a huge open field for sports ball activities.

I walk this park several times a week. Two ballparks, two Futsal Courts and a new childrenβs play area make it great for families. There is also a community center and picnic area for rent. I just wish people would use the trash receptacles and not litter the park and stream.

The park is so much better after the playground make-over! Much cleaner than the previous setup. We'll be visiting more often.
